As so nicely written by Jean-Moïse Braitberg: "At the archway of Périgord and Agenais, between the Dordogne and the valleys of L’entre-Deux-Mers, this region is unique. As stunning as Toscana with cypress trees punctuating like exclamations marks the ends of phrases written by sentences of vines, reminding the earth to never forget the death of the Huguenots".
It is a region with blazing ideals, illuminated passion and everlasting dreams.
The Bordelais shares these traits. The Hostens-Picant Château is there, in the middle of this unique region, perched high on the plains of Lèvres and Thoumeyragues.
With Stéphane Derenoncourt we launched a cultural revolution on our land. We ascertained the ideal balance of production, yielding the best quality of grapes: no more than 4 or 5 clusters per vine. On this exceptional terroir where rock lies under a layer of pure and powerful clay, we dug up and replanted 6600 vines per hectare: it is the golden rule we follow to elevate this vineyard to its best.
